Managing Emails

For a long time I have pondered how to manage email and I think I am finally getting onto something.

All my emails are in the cloud for a start and I started with one email account through which everything was channelled.

I started to get work email and quickly discouraged anything other than work related email to pass through this account. Therefore when I left one work place I didn't have to transfer anything to another email account. I could simply leave the archive behind.

Then I started to subscribe to things on the web. There were so many suppliers wanting my email address that email account number one became the subscription account and I started email number 2.

Email address number 2 became my friends and family address and I never listed this anywhere and discouraged the round robins that get circulated between family and friends.

Fortunately as there is no requirement for me to have any work devices it became necessary to set up email address number 3 which I use for work related purposes when I do not have access to my real work email account.

Then I realised that it was probably a good idea to have an email address for cv related queries so this became email address number 4.

I have various blogs about one thing and another and for each there is a seperate email address.

I have set up various events for which I have created seperate email addresses.

I have various hobbies for which I set up various email accounts.

I have email accounts for Visitors, when I go out into the big wide world (ventures), diy, garden, sports, cats and people I look after.

And all this means I do little filing since all the relevant email subject matter is sent to the relevant account.

Recommended.
