Well, what an interesting week! Just completed a digital cleanse over 8 days and this is what it entailed.
"Taking a week 4 a digital cleanse http://j.mp/OnlineCleanse "c u on the otherwise in 8 days" (via @ridlydidly)"
In actual fact this meant no social networking , including Twitter and Facebook. I responded to emails and tried not to initiate any and that's it.
The rest of the time I read (The Art of Happiness, Twilight, OM Magazine, Metro, the
Guardian, Evening Standard)
I listened to radio (BBC Radio Sussex, BBC World Service and BBC Radio 2 and 4)
I watched films ( The Good Shepherd, Edif Piaf)
I caught up with tv on demand c/o Virgin Plus
I coped with the snow, work and three cats
I commuted, worked, cooked, ate, cleaned, ironed, drank and slept
I shopped, reviewed finances, sorted paper filing, walked and cleared out books I will never read again
I had to text Mum only because this is a preferred means of communication for her (it's complicated)
I phoned a little more but not that much... I'm not that big on phone calls
So when all is said and done I can conclude that it's strange to be offline and if it has to be done it can be done and all that happens is that life is lived in a different way
It was the week the "Jonathon Ross leaving the BBC" hit and it's possible that had I been online I may have got the news slightly quicker but it was a working day so maybe not.
